Hosanna! Praise the Lord! Sometimes, teaching our little ones small phrases can help them in their journey to learning about Jesus and what he did for us. In our main lesson, we see Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The people shouted, “Hosanna!” They treated him as a king. Let’s help our little ones celebrate Jesus with these simple phrases.
Pick leaves with your little one outside. After you have picked many, throw the leaves in the air and shout, “Hosanna! Praise the Lord!” You can share the story of Jesus’s entrance in two to three short sentences, and when you get to the people shouting, throw the leaves in the air again. They will laugh and enjoy.

Green Kid-safe paint
Popsicle stick and glue (optional)
Make a palm tree leaf using your little one’s hand. Draw a stem with a marker (or crayon). You can cut the leaf out once it dries if you like. Write your “(child’s name) praises the Lord!” If you cut it out, you can glue the popsicle stick to the back of the stem and part of the bottom of the leaf. Your child can run around with it saying “Hosanna! Praise the Lord!” If you have a crawler, maybe they can wave it around. Every time they wave it, you shout, “Hosanna! Praise the Lord!”
Here are some pretty awesome palm leaf/tree hand art.
