This week, as we discussed in the main lesson, Peter’s reaction to Jesus’s arrestwas not the best side of him. He didn’t want people to know he knew Jesus. It was not because he was ashamed of Jesus, but he was afraid. But when we are afraid, we have to fight that with faith. What is the best way to do that? Turn on the light, the Light of Jesus Christ that is. Your little one may not fully understand this story, but if you start implementing small pieces of God’s word, they will have what they need when it is time to shine their faith. We’re building faith.
Do you know the song This Little Light of Mine? We want you to sing that with your little one. Then, after you have sung it a few times, add in a light that is appropriate for their age. Every time you say, I’m going to let it SHINE, click on the light, or let them do it. Use a flashlight, a favorite toy, a lamp, etc. Next, you want to share this scripture with them.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see
your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 ESV
Start doing this sequence every day of the week, and watch your little one mimic it.
