Many of us are familiar with the story of Jesus rising from the dead, the Resurrection. When I was younger, I used to think the Resurrection was a terrible event, but that was because I did not fully understand what it was. However, as I got older and read the Bible for myself, understanding the Resurrection was what saved me. I discovered that this had to take place, so I could have a place in heaven with Jesus.
When Jesus was crucified and buried, so much took place between that time and the Resurrection. Jesus gained power in heaven and Earth. What I love most about this story is that Jesus said that if we obey everything He has commanded, He will always be with us. By thinking about what Jesus has done for us by allowing us to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit reminds us that we have new life eternally with Him. John 11:25-26 says, “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.’” Do you believe this?
