As I read the familiar passages of Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem to the crucifixion on the cross, I could not help but question where I stand with Christ. We experience Jesus’ blessings and miracles every day. We are blessed just by waking up every day with life. I know I am blessed to see another day, to have food to eat, a home, and a job.
To be reminded about what Jesus has done for us takes me back to that night I sincerely accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I didn’t accept Jesus in my life because everyone else was or because my family had done it. I wanted to get to know Jesus personally for myself. After going through some personal issues within myself, I felt as if I had no one else to turn to until I opened myself to Jesus. From then until now, I know what Jesus has done for me. I know that Jesus is real in my life and that He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Jesus is the Son of God.
Because I am still walking with Christ, I am tempted every day by the enemy. The enemy makes me question just about every move I make. It goes back and forth about if I am truly a child of God because of my actions. I admit that I am not perfect, but I know if I have sinned. If I am not aware, I am sure to pray to God and ask Him to reveal to me my wrong. Following that prayer, I also ask for forgiveness that I grow into Jesus’ likeness every day throughout this journey. John 12:46-47 says, “I have come into the world as a light so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.”
I believe that knowing Jesus for yourself, staying true to Him, and believing in Him no matter how bad life may get is important. If someone asks you if you are a follower of Christ, confidently say that you are. Stay with Jesus to be with Him in paradise one day. There is an eternal reward in heaven waiting on all of us who are believers of Jesus. I believe our purpose on this earth is to spread God’s word and love to bring people to Christ as someone once did us. Let’s all keep our faith in Jesus and stay on His side.
