I have two goddaughters who are the sweetest, but every time, they go somewhere, they leave something behind. This time, it was a pair of socks and shoes. Sometimes, it’s a notebook, a purse, or a barrette.
As I stared at the forgotten items, I shook my head. Then, I thought, “They are always leaving pieces of themselves behind.” After that thought, I smiled.
My goddaughters are typical elementary kids. They forget items. However, things they never forget are opportunities to give hugs, show kindness, and share warm smiles. No matter where they go, their Spirit for God shines through, and it is absolutely beautiful. So, no matter where you go today, tomorrow, or next week, I encourage you to leave beautiful pieces of yourself behind.
Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18 ESV
