In 2 Timothy 3:16, the writer says that the God-inspired written scripture is profitable. Specifically, it is profitable for teaching, sharing the truth, setting you on the right path, and keeping you on the right path. Profitability infers gain and lucrativeness, which means receiving something good that has an ongoing positive effect. So, I ponder. Do the words we write bring gain to those who read them, execute them, and store them internally? If so, we should see those gains in our readers’ thoughts, words, and actions.
