This week, I experienced a proud godparent moment. We are having an event at our church, and on the same date during the same timeframe, two of my goddaughters were supposed to be involved in an event at school. I spoke with their grandmother about what we could do to help them be a part of both events without shirking responsibilities. I provided a suggestion, and then, I prayed. I provided a second suggestion, and I prayed. My goddaughters’ grandmother liked the first suggestion best and decided that she was going to move forward on that suggestion. However, before she could talk to my goddaughters about it, the oldest of the pair had executed suggestion one. My goddaughter did not know about our discussion, but it was evident that God was working. I was proud because she allowed the spirit of God to lead her, and she chose to prioritize God in her life over a school event. Now, she and her sister will have an opportunity to participate in both events, without missing the richness that each offer. God is working in our children’s lives. Don’t doubt it. Look for it more.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
